TGF-ß is a multifunctional regulator. It inhibits cell growth and promotes apoptosis, stimulates extracellular matrix production, regulates the proliferation and migration of endothelial and vascular smooth muscle cells, and regulates the proliferation, differentiation, and activation of immune cells.
